The first wearable computer was developed by Edward O Thorp in 1955, but
later revised with Claude Shannon in 1960-61. Due to hardware problems at the
time, the device could not be used practically, but did give an edge of 44%
covering an octant of the wheel. The following Link is makes interesting reading,
especially how they planned on disguising their play.
Several groups also emerged across the states and in Russia after 1966 and
Thorp publishing his work. There was the ‘Romeo Project’, ‘The Omega
Team’ and later ‘Copernicus’ (Which was an extension of the computer used
by ‘The Eudaemonic Team’)
The Eudeamonics are the guys that did it in the 1970's when computers had to
be designed to be small enough to take into the casinos covertly. It was
installed finally in the bottom of a shoe sole.
Here’s how they implemented it at the tables using two players.
Here is another Roulette team that did it in the 1980’s. Although they gave
up, they obtained excellent results.
